We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Psychologist to join our integrated Mental Health team in the North West region covering HMP Preston category B, HMP Lancaster Farms category C and HMP Kirkham category D. The sites are based a short drive from the Lake District , are close to the M6 for commuters. All sites are also accessible via public transport. You will work collaboratively with the Mental Health teams on each site and will be an integral part of the clinical leadership team supporting the development of the psychological therapies service.
Hours 9am-5pm, we are flexible regarding which days Monday -Friday this role will take place
Salary
This position is 3 days per week, youll receive an annual salary between £45,000 and £68,498 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Lead Psychologist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Provide oversight for HMP Preston, HMP Lancaster Farms and HMP Kirkham with clinical input for HMP Lancaster Farms and HMP Kirkham
- Support the development and embedding of a trauma-informed mental health service model across sites
- Offer clinical support and oversight to the Integrated Mental Health Team (IMHT)
- Undertake psychological assessments
- Support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
- Deliver psychological interventions to cases of complexity
- Deliver and oversee 1:1 and group intervention as part of the Trauma Informed 'Making Sense' Programme
- Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff where required
- Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation and research profile as appropriate

Qualifications, skills and experience required: - Registered with professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline i.e., HCPC/BPS
- Experience of highly specialist psychological assessment and individual and group based treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including primary and secondary/ specialist care and inpatient/residential, outpatient and community team settings and forensic settings.
- Experience working with psychological trauma
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical / forensic / counselling psychologist at a senior highly specialist level
