We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells, a category C Prison located in Wellingborough.
Hours 37.5 hours a week working. Monday to Friday 0900-1700hrs. With working one in five weeks weekend.Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £46,200 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions. You will undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening. You will assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge.
- You will ensure that you assess physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody so that any appropriate referral can be made. You will also be responsible for making a clinical judgement with regard to any immediate need and long term treatment.
