We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Oakwood, a category C prison located in Featherstone, approximately 5 miles outside of Wolverhampton.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. HMP Oakwood is the largest prison in the UK, with outstanding facilities and training opportunities. We invest in our team, offer lots of training and upskilling opportunities. You could learn lots of new skills here with us, including ECG, medication, respiratory, tissue viability, wound care and long term conditions. Hours: This is a full time role, and you will work night shifts between 19:45 - 08:00, including weekends. Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of up to £27,195 per annum. How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant (Nights), your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Support the Duty Nurse / Paramedic during the night
- Work within medication, primary care, emergency situations, social care - this role is very varied! No two days are the same!
- Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
- Work across all 9 residential buildings within the prison
- Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
- Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:- Hold a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent

- Ideally, you will be a driver with access to a vehicle due to the location of the prison
