We have an exciting opportunityfor a Safer Custody Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HM Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in London.
HMP Wormwood Scrubs is a male remand prison with a capacity of 1280 aged 18 years +Hours
Monday - Friday 7.30am - 4pm - 37.5 hours per week.
Salary
This position is fulltime, youll receive an annual salary up to £57,550.00 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Safer Custody Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work together at each stage of the patient journey, supporting them as they arrive in the prison (Early Days in Custody Team)
- Delivering the care they need, promoting good health and supporting resettlement (Planned Care Team) and responding to urgent and emergency needs (Unscheduled Care Team) Prisons have a dedicated team of staff whose job it is to keep the prison safe for everyone, called the Safer Custody Team.
- Responsibility for managing the risks of people harming themselves or other people, or of being harmed by others. The Safer Custody Nurse will work as part of the Safer Custody Team to promote patient safety and safeguarding across the establishment.
- You will be overarching across New Models of Care (NMOC) working with the multidisciplinary team to review and assess individual patient risk throughout the time in custody.
- Liaising with other healthcare and prison colleagues in managing and reducing risk.

- Be a qualified registered nurse with NMC registration or have extensive experience of working within a clinical setting
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Continuing role specific Mandatory Training
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
