We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Inpatient Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Preston, a category B Prison located in Preston. HMP Preston is a Category B local remand prison based in Preston with a capacity for 680 inmates around a 10/15 minute walk from the train station.Hours

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £53,077 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Inpatient Clinical Lead your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
- Actively participate with the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clear for clinicians
- Ensuring all complaints / concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Nurse lead treatment or care within mental health
- Confirm waiting list are well managed ensuring minimal waiting times for patients
- Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration
- Referral to another health professional or service as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessment, planning and treatment of patients.
- Manage and provide clinical supervision to the team.
- Work closely with Heads of Healthcare ensuring reports and other measures are accurately completed within deadlines.

- Registered Mental Health Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council)
- BSc / equivalent qualification
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence in all aspects of the role
- Interpreting and implementing local and National policy agendas for health Previous experience of managing and developing a nursing team
