We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Support Worker to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Gartree, a category B Prison located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. It houses 640 men and is a 10-minute drive from the town centre. You will be joining a friendly and experience team who are currently expanding, this role also benefits from free parking, free use of gym and fitness classes as well as a number of training and development opportunities.
Salary This is a bank position with an hourly rate of £13.53Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Be responsible for the second checking of all controlled drugs under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician.
- Make accurate entries into controlled drug registers.
- Support and provide a timely and efficient pharmaceutical service to the prison wings.
- You will contribute to the development of and support implementation of medicine management strategy and associated services and projects
- You may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.

- Medicines handing experience desirable not essential
- English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or above/equivalent E.g. Functional skills Level 2
- Excellent communication skills
