We have an exciting opportunity for a Principle Psychologist at HMP Winchester to join our team. HMP Winchester is a Category B Local remand prison located in Central Winchester accommodating approximately 670 male prisoners.
Although the site is close to Winchester city centre there is onsite (free!) parking for all staff and it is a short walk from Winchester train station.
Due to HMP Winchester holding remand prisoners and to support the daily regime, we do require staff to work on rota basis and you can be asked to work nights, bank holidays and weekends although if youre looking for flexibility we can discuss this at interview
Full time, part time (flexible hours - minimum of 22.5 hours week) and youll receive an annual salary up to 60,000 per annum - depending on experience.
Golden Hello - 3,000 (1,000 in 6 months of service, 1,000 after 12 months and 1,000 after 24 months of service - conditions apply).

Main duties of the job
HMP Winchester is looking for a Principle Psychologist to support the IMHT with assessment and interventions for complex patients, offer consultation/reflective practice to the team and clinical supervision to the assistant psychologists.
The direct clinical work includes
- Undertaking psychological assessments, supporting complex multi-disciplinary formulations and delivering psychological interventions for cases of great complexity.
- You will also be required to utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
- You will support the integrated mental health team in the overall development of the availability of evidence-based therapies.
- In addition to the onsite team, you will also be supported by a regional and national team with significant experience working in secure settings.
