We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Askham Grange, a female prison located in Askham Richard, YorkHMP Askham Grange is an open prison, which delivers a national service to women prisoners (residents) and young offenders and offers the opportunity for up to ten mothers to maintain full-time care of their child or children whilst in custody. It also facilitates a comprehensive resettlement regime for long and, increasingly, short-stay residents.

Hours

This role is working Monday to Friday across either 3 or 4 days. Clinical hours on site are based between 7.30am and 5.30pm   Salary

This position is a part time role working 28 hours per week , youll receive an annual salary up to 53,077 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead and a member of the wider management team, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Be responsible for providing the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the primary care team across an integrated healthcare service, contributing to the strategic direction of the service.
  • Support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options, and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead/contribute to clinical and consumer audits.
  • Be responsible to the Head of Healthcare, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.

Qualifications required (copy from JD)

  • Registered Nurse Adult  with current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and best practice
