We have an exciting opportunity for a  Pharmacy Technician  to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Leeds, a category B Prison located in the Armley area of  Leeds . The Leeds team adopts an inclusive, compassionate and punctilious attitude towards each other and their patients. Leeds is an unpredictable, fast paced environment where care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician in the medicines management team your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.

• Be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.

• Be an integral member of the Medicines Management team, which forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Practice Plus Group policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.

Qualifications required

• NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience
• General GCSE education or equivalent
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Able to work within a busy environment
