As a Pharmacy Technician in the Medicines Management team, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
You will be required to work within the healthcare department and hold direct patient contact, which will be part be of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
Within this role, you will be an integral member of the Medicines Management team, which forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. Practice Plus Group policies and procedures and statutory frameworks governing patient care in a prison setting, will be used in order to deliver the highest standard of care to clients in line with National Guidelines.
Main duties of the job
You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.

The working hours are from 7am to 7pm, working 3 days one week and 4 days the next (including weekends).
About us
HMP Belmarsh is a Category A mens prison with an operational capacity of over 910 inmates and is located in South East London. The site houses a High Security Unit (HSU) and is regarded as the most secure prison unit in the United Kingdom. HMP Belmarsh became operational in April 1991 and is adjacent to and adjoin to Woolwich Crown Court.
The dedicated team in the Health in Justice division of Practice Plus Group make a real difference across over 45 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.

and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what
matters to them. Focussing on providing a safe and secure medicines management
service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard

and orderly standard.
Deliver non-judgemental care
within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely
administration of medicines through to analysing cost effective prescribing as
defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy. You will make a
real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of
healthcare professionals.
