Job summary

About the Job You will work as part of a team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners within the Brighton Station Walk-In-Health Centre. The Centre is open 7 days per week between 8am-8pm. This is a Full Time Permanent role, giving you full access to everything we have to offer.  As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner you will be utilising expert diagnostic and clinical skills to provide autonomous, unscheduled medical care and management of patients presenting with acute undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions, complex health needs and /or long term conditions, within the Walk In Care service. You will be required to work within Clinical Guidelines, Policies, Procedures and utilising expert judgment to work outside these frameworks where necessary. You must be able to Prescribe as an Independent Nurse Prescriber, within professional competence, ensuring that all duties in relation to medicines management meet required professional and Practice Plus Group standards. We have around 10,000 registered patients consisting of a young and diverse demographic including many students.  There will be a mixture of work between our registered GP service as well as our Walk in Centre. 

Main duties of the job

We are looking for nurses who are willing to undertake training in regards global emergency vaccination programs, and have previous experience or willing to upskill to perform telephone consultations. You should be able to deliver face to face and telephone advice services which will enable patients to obtain health information treatment diagnosis from the appropriate health care professional, and provide safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients attending Primary Care Centres, Including latest updates in regards to C-19 mass vaccination program.   You will be accountable for their own practice as face to face and/or telephone encounters including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention, who attend the Primary care Centres or patients in their own home.   What we'll need from you

  • Be an autonomous Nurse Practitioner with a patient assessment qualification and recent work experience within a Primary/Urgent Care environment
  • Hold an independent prescribing qualification
  • Hold an NMC Pin
  • Experience in management long term conditions
