About the role
Youll be a vital part of a professional, friendly and compassionate team supported by our experienced Theatre Manager. Our focus at all times is on ensuring that our patients receive high quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings, and youll do everything you can to ensure the patients treatment is of the highest standard.
Youll be responsible for undertaking pre-operative checks, ensuring the effective and accurate handover of patients from the anaesthetic and scrub team and assessing patients appropriately throughout their recovery period.
Main duties of the job
Who we're looking for
A Registered NMC Nurse or an HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner, with:
- experience in anaesthesia and recovery and the extubating and resuscitation of patients
- competent in IV therapies and catheterisation
- clinical knowledge of anaesthetics and infection control, alongside your
- problem-solving skills and ability to think both literally and laterally
- having a sound knowledge of Health and Safety/Risk management within the operating department
