As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patients treatment is of the highest standard.   Our focus at all times is on ensuring that our patients receive high quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings.   You will be working as part of a friendly, welcoming and expert multidisciplinary Theatre Team supported by our experienced Theatre Manager, Eve.   You will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of all aspects of clinical and non-clinical work within the Surgical service ensuring the provision and delivery of consistently high standards of care and safety.   You will perform managerial duties but also work as part of the clinical team within the department to provide clinical leadership. You will also be responsible for managing elective and emergency situations within the department and providing first line care as a clinical expert where appropriate.

Main duties of the job

You will be a part 1 registered NMC Nurse with experience of being a theatre practitioner in a theatre, or a HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner.   Who we are looking for:  

  • Part 1 registered NMC Nurse or a HCPC registered ODP
  • Extensive  experience in the operating environment
  • Evidence of ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience of effectively managing a team
  • Specialist theatre training
