Join us in this role and receive a 3000 welcome aboard bonus   As the EDiC Nurse you will work in reception screening new arrivals to the prison. You will complete a detailed reception screen and assess risk on new patients. You will ascertain what needs that patient requires within those first 48 hours and make a referral to the EDIC referral Hub. You will also work in the First Night Centre and complete secondary health screening to establish any other needs that they patient may require.   Working in reception, you will also be responsible for men leaving the establishment for court, release or transfers. You will review all men leaving the prison to ensure they are fit for travel and you will also review all men returning from hospital appointments or hospital stays.    There will also be some additional Clinical Coordination responsibilities. You will coordinate the identification, referral and assessment of care for men within the first 14 days of custody and will complete reception screens, assessments and provide care interventions such as BBV testing and vaccinations.

Main duties of the job

You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services. Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.

About us

The retention bonus is offered to those who commence substantive employment in the above role within the named Practice Plus Group Health in Justice location from 30th November 2022 onwards. The bonus is paid in four parts: 1000 is paid within your first 6 months of employment (500 at the end of your first month of employment, 500 after 6 months, or successful completion of a probation period). You will receive a 750 after 15 months of service, and a further 1250 when you reach 2 years service with Practice Plus Group. The total bonus is pro-rata for part time joiners.
