Job summary

As an Inpatient Staff Nurse you will be an integral part of the healthcare team at HMP Isle of Wight by bringing your clinical skills and passion for care. You could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency.

The Inpatient Healthcare Unit (IHU) provides care to prisoners with both mental and physical health problems, minor surgery, medical, rehabilitation/post-operative care, and palliative care. The Unit also provides a safe environment for the stabilisation and detoxification of prisoners with substance misuse problems. IHU delivers care over a 24hr period and rotation will be expected from days to nights.

Main duties of the job

You will be a registered nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment.   Interested in clinical development?
