Primary Care Clinical Lead - Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre

As the Clinical Lead and a member of the wider management team, you will be responsible for providing the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the primary care health team across an integrated healthcare service, contributing to the strategic direction of the service. You will support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options, and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team. There will be an expectation for the post holder to lead/contribute to clinical and consumer audits. You'll be responsible to the Head of Healthcare, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.

The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments. Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre is a detention centre based on the grounds of Gatwick Airport, Crawley, West Sussex. Gatwick IRC provides a 24/7 service and the shift hours for the role are from 07:00-19:30 and 19:00 - 07:30. The working hours for this role will be the core office hours, however you may on occasions be expected to cover shift hours.
