As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, working within the Immigration Removal Centre you will provide a holistic package of care to patients within the removal centre and manage the assessment of health needs, planning, delivery and evaluation of care including clinical risk assessment. You will ensure that you assess physical and mental health of detainees on admission to the removal centre and throughout their period of detention so that any appropriate referral can be made. You will also be responsible for making a clinical judgement with regard to any immediate need and long term treatment.
Main duties of the job
You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing. Youll have a flexible approach to working within a team that encourages new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service. You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward-thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment. Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing is desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered with appropriate training provided. Youll receive an annual salary up to 44,412 per annum - depending on experience.
