We are looking for highly motivated Uk experienced Sonographers to join our well established clinical team. You will be working alongside a great team of professionals that are passionate about delivering an excellent patient experience and maintaining the highest standards at all times.

We are commissioned by the NHS to provide Ultrasound at the various locations, across Stockport . We deliver non obstetric ultrasound using the latest GE Mobile machines. The range of ultrasound we provide, include abdominal, general medicine, pelvis and superficial imaging. MSK ultrasound skills are an advantage.

Main duties of the job

Job purpose

To work within the Management Team and alongside Clinical Leads to provide Clinical Management and Clinical Governance in Ultrasound Services.

A minimum of a post-graduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound, clinical expertise and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential requirements.

Scope

Performing a dual role, providing strategic direction and governance alongside undertaking clinical sessions, the post holder will be required to work flexibly to deliver strategic objectives whilst supporting the Ultrasound service within clinics across several sites. This may include working with different teams and environments on a regular basis.

Main Duties/Responsibilities

LEAD/ADVISORY

Provide comprehensive guidance and support in the development of ultrasound policies and procedures

Develop best practice guidelines across Ultrasound services in accordance with current national and local standards

Work within the Management Team and Governance lead to ensure all aspects of clinical governance are adhered to

Provide Clinical leadership in Accreditation processes

Undertake site visits to assess quality and performance in Practice and promote confidentiality at all times.

CLINICAL/TECHNICAL

Demonstrate delivery of high standards of care.

From the clinical information available on the referral request, determine the type of ultrasound examination required.

Positively identify all patients prior to the examination

As part of the clinical examination take a brief history from the patient to confirm and expand on the clinical information already available.

Select the correct equipment, including ultrasound transducers and technique and perform the appropriate ultrasound examination to provide the diagnostic information required. Produce either hard copy or digital images of the examination for long term storage of the clinical record.

Provide a written independent diagnostic report of the clinical results for the referring clinician.

Ensure all urgent findings are communicated appropriately and the patient directed accordingly

In order to maintain accuracy of clinical records, ensure that full patient and examination data is entered onto the patient management system.

Run Quality Assurance checks on equipment, and action as appropriate

Respect the privacy and dignity of patients and other staff at all times.

Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues

Demonstrate a firm involvement in clinical governance, risk management and clinical audit, including participation in the development and maintenance of appropriate systems and practices to ensure continuous and safe clinical practice

  • Registration as a radiographer with the Health Professions Council. Evidence of CPD.
  • BSc or Diploma. (Radiography or relevant healthcare equivalent).

  • Evidence of further postgraduate study
