Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Advanced Practitioner to join our remarkable and dynamic Histology team. This is a great step up for a Specialist BMS into management with a specialism of Histological Dissection. The post holder will be required to complete the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection and contribute towards managing a team of Biomedical Scientists, as well as Junior and Support staff.
This role is part of a team which provides an efficient and effective Histology service to Hospitals and the local GP community.

Main duties of the job
Organise and manage teams of Biomedical Scientists, junior staff and Support staff performing biomedical analyses and processes, managing workload processing to comply with both Quality Standards and Key performance Indicators. This will be on more than one site or across specialisms.
To Dissect Histological specimens in line with RCpath guidelines under the supervision of an Advanced Practitioner and Pathologist.
To complete the Diploma of Expert Practice (DEP) in Histological Dissection working towards professional skills and advanced knowledge required.
Maintain the standards of conduct required by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a registered Biomedical Scientist
Ensure compliance with all policies as required by regulatory directives, accreditation bodies and local management.
