As a Phlebotomist you will be taking blood samples from
patients for all our pathology services ensuring correct order of draw, and
safe specimen handling using the appropriate PPE.

Job responsibilities
We are looking to recruit an Advanced Phlebotomist to
expand our team working across at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital,
Southend University Hospital and other local community clinics throughout South
Essex.
This role is ideally suited for someone who is experienced,
caring, friendly and would like to be a part of a team that contributes towards
patient care. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to
work and communicate with a large team across multiple sections.
Our Phlebotomy services operate Monday to Sunday and bank
holidays from 07.00am 20.00pm. Due to the wide operating times, you would be
working a combination of shifts each week which would include early and late
shifts. Weekends and bank holidays are essential and also an expectation for
this role, however they are on a rotational basis and will attract additional
enhanced pay.
A full driving license and access to your own vehicle is
essential, as you will be required to travel to a variety of community clinic
locations. Successful applicants will undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service
check.
Essential Skills and Experience

to at least 5 GCSE Level (or equivalent) which must include English or NVQ
