Kernow Health CIC is launching an exciting new Occupational Health service to support primary care staff across Cornwall and were looking for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to help shape it. This is your chance to be part of something new, innovative, and impactful.

In this role, you'll work autonomously, managing your own caseload and delivering expert advice on health promotion, sickness absence, and workplace wellbeing. You'll screen pre-employment health questionnaires, assess fitness for work, and recommend adjustments to keep staff safe and supported. In time, you'll also run immunisation clinics, carry out venepuncture, and respond to exposure incidents, ensuring every interaction meets the highest standards of confidentiality and care.

You'll be the go-to professional for managers and staff, offering evidence-based guidance and clear, constructive communication even when conversations are complex or sensitive. Your work will span everything from case management and health surveillance to policy development and service improvement. Its a role that demands clinical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to balance planned clinics with urgent queries.

Main duties of the job

Were looking for a registered nurse with Occupational Health qualifications or equivalent experience, confident in delivering immunisations and interpreting health questionnaires. Youll need strong organisational skills, computer literacy, and a thorough understanding of legislation such as the Equality Act 2010. Experience in sickness absence management and working within healthcare settings is essential, and knowledge of health surveillance techniques is a bonus.

The role involves delivering specialist advice on health promotion, sickness absence management, and advisory services while working as part of a small Occupational Health team.

The post holder will be responsible for Occupational Health screening, immunisations, and venepuncture. The role requires up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based best practices in Occupational Health and Wellbeing, in line with current guidelines and legislation.
