Senior CT and MRI Radiographer

As a Senior CT and MRI Radiographer at our Derby Hospital, you'll have a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and high levels of technical knowledge. Ideally, you'll also have Radiation Protection Supervisor training and qualification, as well as the ability to work accurately and compassionately.
As a Senior CT / MRI Radiographer, you will:
Have a postgraduate qualification and/ or high levels of technical knowledge and experience (desirable)
Have experience in a wide variety of MRI and CT scans, including Cardiac MRI and/or Cardiac CT (desirable)
Have experience with GE MRI and GE CT scanners (desirable)
Have an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and staff alike.
Be respectful towards all individuals , including staff patients and visitors.
Supervise and develop junior colleagues
Ensure a service of the highest quality is delivered with sensitivity and compassion
Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Have a proactive and forward-thinking approach to work
Competency in intravenous cannulation and administration of contrast media is essential
Main duties and responsibilities
Deliver a high-quality diagnostic imaging service for a varied caseload
Be highly proficient in the use of all equipment within scope of practice
Responsible for MRI Safety in line with local rules
To work within IRMER and own scope of practice in accordance with the code of conduct set out by the HCPC
Participate in departmental audits and Quality Assurance programme
Provide support to the Clinical Lead Radiographers.
Ensure equipment is safe and fit for purpose and can report faults in line with Nuffield Health Policy
Provide input to the review, update and implementation of departmental policy and procedures
Comply with all Nuffield Health polices and procedures
Ensure all records are maintained in line with statutory and organisational requirements

About Nuffield Health Derby Hospital
The Nuffield Health Derby Hospital is a modern, purpose-built hospital with 38 en-suite beds, three operating theatres, and together with a comprehensive range of outpatient services.
The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, MRI and CT. Set in beautiful grounds, we're about 3 miles from the city centre, within easy reach of all major roads and bus routes.
