Senior Biomedical Scientist - Haematology

Up to £ £50,500 depending on experience
37.5 hours per week

As a Biomedical Scientist at our Exeter Hospital, you'll bring the relevant qualifications and laboratory experience in Haematology and multidisciplinary biomedical science. You have a good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of techniques. You're also a natural communicator and team player, and you share our idea of quality.
As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will:
Deliver quality pathology services and taking a share of covering on-call service out of hours.
Perform biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation and reporting, through to quality control.
Support the organisation in validating and assessing new equipment and developing new diagnostic procedures. This is part of our ongoing quest to deliver the very best experience possible for patients.
Lead the Quality Management of the department
As a Senior Biomedical Scientist you will need:
To be HCPC registered.
MSc Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).
Relevant laboratory experience in multi-disciplinary biomedical science and significant Haematology (Inc morphology) experience.
Good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of multi-disciplinary techniques.
The ability to understand how vital it is to maintain good customer relationships and provide high levels of service in a modern pathology laboratory.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual able to multi-task and meet deadlines.

Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital
The Exeter Nuffield hospital is based next to the RDUH hospital in Wonford, Exeter. The hospital has 2 theatres, as well as a hybrid cardiac catheter laboratory/theatre and an Endoscopy suite. There are two ward areas: an inpatient area with 21 beds and a day-case ward with 10 beds. We also have a busy outpatient department, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and radiology department including an MRI scanner. We specialise in elective orthopaedic and spinal surgery, cardiology including invasive procedures, general surgery, plastics and cosmetic surgery, ENT, and gynaecology. The Hospital has a MAKO robot that undertakes some of the joint replacement surgery which we have become well known for in this field of surgery.
