MRI Team Lead
Newcastle Hospital | Radiology | Permanent | Part time
Up to £50,000 pro rata depending on experience

Main duties of the job
Clinical Leadership:
Act as the lead MRI radiographer, ensuring safe and effective delivery of MRI services.
Independently perform a wide range of MRI procedures, including advanced and specialist scans.
Maintain compliance with MHRA guidelines, IR(ME)R, IRR, and Nuffield Health protocols.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, workflow, and scanner utilisation.
Support the Radiology Manager in departmental planning, audits, and quality assurance.
Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Team Development:
Supervise, mentor, and support radiographers, students, and new staff.
Lead on training initiatives and promote continuous professional development.
Foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
Patient Care:
Deliver compassionate, individualised care to all patients.
Ensure a safe and welcoming environment, maintaining dignity and respect.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

As the MRI Team Lead at Nuffield Health Newcastle, you will be responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of the MRI service. You will ensure the delivery of a high-quality, patient-centred imaging service while supporting the Radiology Manager in strategic planning and service development. Key Responsibilities:

BSc in Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent). HCPC registration. Postgraduate qualification in MRI (desirable). Radiation Protection Supervisor and MRSO training (desirable). Proven experience in MRI, including leadership or supervisory roles. Strong knowledge of MRI safety, protocols, and quality standards. Skills & Attributes:
