Job summary

Help manage the patient clinics. Perform HFA, I-profiler, and OCT testing on patients during the clinics and at other times to suit the patients. Assist with pre-operative assessment of patients prior to cataract surgery.

Our ophthalmic consultants are very busy and require several tests for each patient at their clinic appointment. We would like to provide them with some assistance in performing these tests and running the clinics. As a Optometrist Assistant, you will:

  • Help manage the patient clinics.
  • Perform HFA, I-profiler, and OCT testing on patients during the clinics and at other times to suit the patients.
  • Assist with pre-operative assessment of patients prior to cataract surgery.

  • Experience/competency in the testing of patients with specialised ophthalmic equipment.
  • Experience in health and social care.
  • Preferably have an NVQ qualification.
