Senior Physiotherapist
Leicester Hospital | Physiotherapy | Permanent | Part Time - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Salary up to £42,500 pro rata

The Role is part time inpatients specialising in elective orthopaedic surgery here at Leicester Nuffield health Hospital. You will work within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, AHPS and consultants in order to optimise the health and recovery of our patients. We offer a vast range of first-class medical and surgical services performed by our team of expert consultants. The Ward consists of 28 inpatient beds, across elective surgeries. We cater for both inpatient and day case surgery, providing a broad range of surgical specialties including: General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, Urology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Vascular, Plastics and more. Working with leading consultants, Leicester hospital prevents and treats many medical conditions and offers a wide range of complex surgery and services. The hospital is brilliantly placed to support and mentor the successful candidate for this role, alongside our academy training programmes. 'There is opportunity to develop clinical leadership and mentor skills as a clinical educator for student physiotherapists and newly qualified physiotherapists.
Nuffield Health Leicester is a progressive hospital which provides opportunity to support new initiatives such as enhanced recovery and rapid discharge for orthopaedic patients through clinical pathway developments. There are options to increase hours as an outpatient physiotherapist should the right candidate want.

The Person
To succeed as a Physiotherapist, you will;
Have a BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent, you'll be registered with the Health and Care Professions CouncilDemonstrate evidence of further professional training and continual professional development, reflecting your desire to develop as a practitionerBe a confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively with the general public and other healthcare professionalsBe able to demonstrate excellent manual therapy skills.Be a competent and confident IT user with strong organisation skillsHave the ability to prioritise and deal with your varied workload in an effective and timely manner.

HCPC Registration is essential for this role.
As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will work independently as an autonomous, experienced practitioner to deliver high quality physiotherapy care to patients.
Also as a Senior Physiotherapist, you will:
Undertake assessments in patients presenting often complex musculoskeletal conditions and conditions masquerading as musculoskeletal pathologyAppropriately identify patients who require onward referral to advanced level physiotherapists/ consultants or other healthcare consultants including the use of internal escalation pathways for patients presenting with serious pathologyUndertake treatment underpinned by extensive clinical knowledge and skills to deliver high quality patient outcomesMaintain relevant clinical skills and provides on-going evidence of personal CPD and Professional registrationManage complex face to face and remote service caseload effectively ensuring cases are discharged appropriately on systemsSupport colleagues and less experienced members of staff including administration staff and physiotherapy assistant colleagues to enhance clinical outcomes and patient experience.

Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital
Founded in 1969, Nuffield Health Leicester Hospital was originally built from funds raised by the local community and is now one of the leading providers of private healthcare in Leicestershire. The Hospital has a strong local reputation with patients remaining loyal. The Hospital had a £4.5 million refurbishment in 2011 and was the blue print for the wider Hospitals refresh programme. The Hospital has 28 ensuite inpatient beds, 2 Laminar flow theatres, Endoscopy Suite, minor treatment room and 14 consulting rooms. The hospital delivers a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient treatments and services using the best possible technologies. Since 2015 we have invested in a static MRI unit, a new digital X ray room & digital mammography. We are a local centre of excellence for Children and Young People Services.
