Job summary

Nuffield Health St Bartholomew's Hospital | Hospital | Permanent | Full time | Competitive Salary depending on experience 37.5 hours a week

Main duties of the job

Lead, motivate and supervise a team of registered and support staff, ensuring regular and effective communications and ensuring that all are provided with opportunities to influence work objectives in a way which inspires commitment and enthusiasm. Monitor the service against agreed plans and to take prompt corrective action when improvements are identified, alerting line manager to any issues. To manage the team's resource (people, supplies, equipment), ensuring that appropriate resource is available, suggesting workforce requirements to meet team and organisational objectives and seeking feedback to improve future practice referring to the central pharmacy management team for guidance if required. Review, develop, update and implement local policies, procedures and protocols for area of responsibility, in accordance with statutory and organisational requirements. To ensure appropriate medicines optimisation through the safe and effective use of medicines throughout the Hospital, evaluating options to determine what will best meet health and wellbeing needs, confirming what medicines are required and performing clinical checks and accuracy checks on all prescriptions according to qualification prior to dispensing.

  • GPhC registered pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
  • Proven experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services.
