Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Lead you will: Support the Senior Staff and Theatre Manager in the efficient running of the department Co-ordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety Work well with consultants who are experts in their field Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery Champion a supportive, enabling working culture, promoting staff safety and openness Support all levels of theatre staff on a daily basis, providing guidance as required Assist with supporting ongoing training and development of staff within the department Deputise for the Theatre Manager during periods of absence

About us

Exeter Hospital Nuffield Health Exeter Hospital is situated just outside the city centre and has 3 main operating theatres, one of which is a hybrid theatre/cardiac cath lab. We also have an endoscopy room in the department and a 6 bayed recovery. We offer a wide range of specialties including orthopaedics, spinal, foot and ankle, shoulder, general, gynae, urology, ophthalmics and cosmetics to name a few. We now have 2 Stryker MAKO systems which enable robotically assisted hip and knee replacements to be carried out and we were the first independent provider outside London to offer this service. Staff development is extremely important to us and currently have a number of staff undertaking their nurse associate or nurse degree training, and are soon starting ODP apprentice training with the appointment of 2 external staff.
