Modality Partnership
East Surrey division has 2 vacancies for a Salaried GP 4-8 sessions a week at
Birchwood Medical Practice and 6 sessions a week at Smallfield Surgery. Our approach is innovative and
forward looking, and dedicated to excellent clinical outcomes. The postholder
will be passionate about patient care and contributing to the innovation within
the partnership in the way care is delivered. Our practice is well-regarded for
GP, student and AHP training. We enjoy regular clinical meetings, learning
events, quarterly half day closures, and daily huddles for clinical discussions
and case sharing.

Main duties of the job
The role is a
patient centred role delivered from your nominated practice site. The
postholder will need to confidently evidence key skills such as excellent
verbal and written communication skills, clinical skills and empowering
patients to manage their individual health conditions and being part of a supportive
team and be responsible for managing your own workload, results and general
admin. The usual duties of a salaried GP will be expected to undertake
face-to-face appointments and may be called on for other activities such as
home visits, health checks, routine reviews, baby checks, as applicable as well
as participating in the duty GP rota. The postholder will work in collaboration
with their local practice team, engaging the use of the associated roles that
are be attached to the practice.
Our GPs have a
mixture of 15 and 10 minute appointments during the day. In addition to the benefits outlined below,
we offer mentoring and support on-going career progression via GP framework. We
embrace technology to enable more effective and efficient ways of working. Our practice uses EMIS, we have a digital
triage system for ensuring patients are seeing the most appropriate clinician
and utilise AccuRX for swift communications with patients and booking of
appointments. We use MS Teams to enable regular video meetings across sites and
facilitate more rapid collaborative working.

Surrey Medical Practice is a flourishing practice of 3 sites Birchwood
(Horley), Townhill (Caterham) and Smallfield totalling 39,000 patients. Across our 3 sites we have 13 partners, 15
SGPs, 12 AHPs, 11 Pharmacists/Technicians and a supportive and experienced
nursing and operational team. We have a
fabulous care hub that supports our PCN's frail and complex patients as well as
a visiting Urgent Response Team which helps keeps our visit numbers low.
Our practice
operates independently and is wholly locality focused.We believe in clinical excellence, and that
general practice is the cornerstone of well-being in our community.We are innovative leaders within our PCNs
and have embraced the potential these offer.
We are the
largest GP super-partnerships in the UK, with a list size of 450,000 patients
and with a multi-disciplinary workforce of 1500 staff. We are unique, always looking at ways to
improve our delivery of services through the implementation of new and
innovative solutions that we can scale across the organisation. Recent
innovations have included the use of robots to facilitate the remote filing of
blood results and the development of document management team. These new
initiatives are underpinned by our governance team to ensure patient safety.
