Modality Partnership Hull
Division has a new and exciting training
opportunity for a cross-sector pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician.
This is a full-time role, requiring between 30-37.5 hours per week, as per
course requirements and is a 24-month fixed term contract.
Pharmacy
technicians prepare and supply medicines for prescriptions, under the
supervision of a pharmacist and increasingly play an
important role supporting patients with their medicines, complementing clinical
pharmacists, community pharmacists and other members of the primary care
multi-disciplinary team such as GPs and nurses. They work in a variety of settings and undertake a wide range of duties
including dispensing and accuracy checking of prescribed items, providing
information to patients and other healthcare professionals, procurement and
issue of medicines.

Main duties of the job
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an extensive
understanding of Pharmacy, you will rotate between two workplaces: Modality
Partnership General Practice and Newington Pharmacy community pharmacy.
The rotation will be similar to below:
2 days per week in general practice (40% of contracted
hours)
2 days per week in community pharmacy (40% of
contracted hours)
1 day per week study (20% of contracted hours)
You will be required to complete the qualification for
trainee Pharmacy Technicians - BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles &
Practice for Pharmacy Technicians. You will be registered as a student with a
chosen training provider who provide the learning online.
You will require proof of four GCSE passes (Grade A*-C
/ Level 9-4) including Mathematics, English Language, Science and one other.
You will be part of a friendly and supportive network
of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
You will be part of both the practice and pharmacy team
during the training programme but under the employment of Modality Partnership.
