Modality Partnership Walsall
West One PCN has a 2 year fixed-term vacancy for a GP Assistant. We are a dynamic
Primary Care Network of six passionate General Practices within the West of
Walsall. The postholder will work at Kingfisher Berkley Practice. We have a dedicated, enthusiastic team of health care professional
comprising of different skills, and specialities including Physiotherapists,
Paramedics, a Pharmacist Technician, Social Prescribers and a Health Well-Being
Coach.
The postholder
will be a GP Assistants provide a support role, carrying out administrative
tasks, combined in some areas with basic clinical duties. They help to support
GPs and contribute to the smooth running of appointments, improving patients
experience in the surgery.
This job is
suitable for individuals who are career driven and have a passion for working
in an agile manner, implementing solutions, delivering key organisational
priorities and who are committed to make real changes to the health care
services provided within Primary Care to improve patient care.

Main duties of the job
The role is an
all-rounded, hands-on clinical role; the postholder main focus of the role is
on supporting General Practitioners in their day-to-day management of patients,
specifically aimed at reducing the administrative burden, making best use of
consultation time and supporting access to appointments. The postholder will
work in collaboration with the PCN to deliver innovative ways of working to
meet the strategic aims of the PCN.
The role is not
a regular 9am-5pm job and is not a back-office advisory and support role; the
job requires innovation, flexibility and commitment and the postholder will be
required to work resourcefully as part of the team to ensure tasks are completed.
This is a role that will equip you with a portfolio of clinical skills and
development and operational skills to make sustainable changes within primary
care.
