Job summary

Modality Partnership Hull division has 2 part-time vacancies (22 hours) for a Referral Coordinator. The postholder will work within one of the sites, or cross sites when required within the Hull Division. and will be responsible for ensuring patient referrals on to secondary care or other external care providers are actioned in a timely manner at the request of the clinicians.

This job is suitable for individuals who are career driven and have a passion for providing patient services, delivering work that has time limited deadlines and who are committed to make real changes to the health care services provided within Primary Care to improve patient care.

The job is not suitable to people who are not resilient to working in a fast-paced environment and working flexibly in line with ever changing demands in Primary Care and the wider NHS.

Main duties of the job

The role is an all-rounded, hands-on referral administration role; the postholder will need to confidently evidence and utilise key skills such as effective communication, time management, diary management. Good IT skills, letter typing and the ability to prioritise referrals and their differing urgency timescales as requested within the Division and the wider organisation is essential. The postholder will provide practice level support and also referrals support remotely across the division as required.

The role is not a regular 9am-5pm job and is not a traditional typing only secretariat role. The postholder will be required to work with various referral portals to ensure accurate and relevant referrals are made. The job requires innovation, flexibility, and commitment and the postholder will be required to work resourcefully as part of the team to ensure tasks are completed.
