Job summary

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse band 6 looking to make a genuine difference in a supportive and friendly setting?

The Unit Provides Sub Acute Care, Rehabilitation and End of Life care for the residents of Wiltshire. This is an innovative unit with an integrated multi-disciplinary team.

Clinical leadership is provided by a team of Consultant Nurses across the organisation, supporting the Clinical team of Doctors, ACPs, Therapists, Nurses, Support workers and Health Care Assistants, ensuring individual holistic care for the people we care for as well as support for their carers and families.

Ward Leadership is provided by the Ward Manager who has a strong belief in Compassionate Leadership. Supporting and Nurturing Staff to reach their full potential.

We provide the training, support and professional development you need to become a confident, competent Registered Nurse, delivering high standards of care within a Unit that you can be proud of.

Savernake Ward provides 24 hour care, 7 days a week to our patients so the ideal candidate will be able to work a variety of shifts.

We are open to conversations around flexible working patterns if this is required.

Main duties of the job

Registered Nurse, Assessing, planning, Implementing and Evaluating Nursing Care. Supervising and supporting, Nursing Associates, Junior staff, and students.

You will put to use your strong communication and organisation skills, along with a flexible approach, to ensure you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey.

You'll care for patients and their families in the way that you believe is best, delivering our high service standards, sharing best practice, and actively improving the way we work to help us continue to change things for the better. The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • RN (Adult) registered with NMC
  • Specialist Practitioner Qualification (DN)
  • Have any of the following modules and be able to work towards SPQ
  • Current issues in community nursing
  • Leadership and innovation
  • Research in health and social care
  • V100/V300
  • Any of the relevant optional modules (PACR, EOL, Long term conditions, older persons and dementia
  • Community specialist practice
  • Systematic approach to assessment, planning and evaluation of needs led care.
  • Able to carry out activities of a fully functional community nurse including end of life care, competent in the use of Mckinley syringe drivers, the administration of medications to support people in the last stages of life, catheter management skills including male and supra pubic catheter management ,wound care management and administration of iv antibiotics .
  • Able to work autonomously.
  • Previous community nurse experience and lone working advantageous.
  • Use of an electronic patient record system (SystmOne)
  • Experience in supporting junior staff and students through supervision and opportunity to achieve learning outcomes
  • Systematic approach to assessment, planning and evaluation of needs led care.
  • Able to carry out activities of a fully functional community nurse including end of life care, competent in the use of Mckinley syringe drivers, the administration of medications to support people in the last stages of life, catheter management skills including male and supra pubic catheter management ,wound care management and administration of iv antibiotics .
