Main duties of the job
You will be joining well-established, supportive multidisciplinary teams based across BANES and Wiltshire. Our Bath-based service operates from St Martins Community Hospital and includes six consultants and one associate specialist, while our Wiltshire service comprises three consultants, two associate specialists and GPwER colleagues. We are a recognised training department, regularly hosting paediatric trainees from the Severn Deanery (ST48), and are accredited to supervise higher specialist trainees in Community Child Health as part of the national grid.
Our services are integrated and collaborative, co-located with safeguarding and looked after children's nursing teams, community children's nursing, school nursing, speech and language therapy, and Integrated Therapies across Wiltshire. Supported by an efficient Single Point of Access (SPA) and dedicated administrative teams, we deliver care close to home through clinics in GP surgeries, community hospitals and special schools.
We also provide services in Mendip (Somerset), particularly in Frome and Shepton Mallet, with all consultants sharing an office base in Bath. Safeguarding on-call is delivered jointly with Wiltshire colleagues, covering BANES, Mendip and parts of North and West Wiltshire.
