Main duties of the job
Deliver safe, high-quality, child-centred nursing care, including medication oversight, tracheostomy and PEG care, and emergency response.
Assess health needs, make informed clinical decisions, and contribute to safeguarding and multi-agency work.
Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals, using alternative communication methods where needed.
Develop and review personalised care plans and empower families in managing health needs.
Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure safe use of medical equipment.
Provide training, supervision, and mentorship to school staff and students.
Support service improvement through audit, evaluation, and evidence-based practice.
Work autonomously while upholding high professional standards across the school nursing service.
