Job summary
We're looking for a warm, motivated and organised individual to join our friendly and dedicated School Aged Immunisation Team as anImmunisation Administrator/Support Worker.
This is a varied and rewarding role supporting the delivery of the National Childhood Immunisation Programme to children and young people across B&NES, Wiltshire and Swindon.
Working in a range of settings including schools, community venues, and office environments, you'll play an important part in helping the team deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.

Main duties of the job
As an Immunisation Administrator / Support Worker you'll be responsible for:
Communicate clearly and professionally with a range of colleagues, partners, children, young people, and families, always with kindness and respect for individual differences.
Support the smooth delivery of vaccination sessions by preparing venues, transporting equipment, and helping children feel safe and supported throughout.
Carry out essential administrative duties before and after clinics, including accurate data entry, managing records, and processing information in line with data protection standards.
Help promote vaccine confidence and general wellbeing through everyday conversations, in line with the Making Every Contact Count approach.
Be aware of the sensitive nature of consent and confidentiality, particularly when working with children and young people.
Respond appropriately to concerns or safeguarding issues, escalating to senior colleagues when necessary.
Maintain supplies, equipment, and a clean working environment, ensuring everything is ready and safe for use.
Contribute to service improvement by participating in audits, training, meetings, and supporting new team members.
Use your time and resources efficiently, with an understanding of the importance of cost-effective service delivery.
Remain flexible and supportive to meet changing service needs, including occasional travel across the region.

As an Immunisation Administrator / Support Worker you'll be part of our valued within our Immunisation Team.

Were looking for someone approachable, reliable, and motivated, with a passion for working with children and young people. You should have:
Essential
Good communication skills both verbal and written, with a friendly, supportive manner.
A sensitive and patient approach when working with children, families, and colleagues.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and confidence using digital systems (e.g., data entry and Excel).
A flexible, proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Awareness of safeguarding and confidentiality, particularly when supporting children and young people.
Willingness to complete the Care Certificate (or hold an equivalent qualification).
A manual driving licence and willingness to travel across B&NES, Swindon, and Wiltshire as needed.
A sense of humour, punctuality, and commitment to providing high-quality support.
Desirable Experience
Experience working in schools or with children/young people.
Practical experience supporting immunisation or public health sessions.
Familiarity with cold chain processes, supplies ordering, or reporting on child health data.
Confidence using spreadsheets or holding an ECDL qualification.
An interest in public health and wellbeing.
Additional Requirements
You'll need to be able to travel with colleagues and equipment to different venues, and be flexible with working hours, including:
