We are looking for a Student Specialist Practitioner!
Are you a reflective, dedicated and dynamic Nurse or Midwife, and looking to train as a Specialist Practitioner in our Community Nursing Team, where you can make a real difference to children, families, and communities? Then we would love to hear from you!
At HCRG Care Group we are offering a1-year full-timecourse through theUniversity of Surrey.
You will gain vital hands-on practical experience and key theoretical knowledge through a 50/50 split.
Training is a combination of clinical learning and study in both practice placements and university.
You will be based in Surrey.
Successful applicants will need to be available to start in September 2025.
Main duties of the job
Professional Conduct & Accountability
Take responsibility for own learning; report any issues affecting course completion to the Practice Teacher and University.
Adhere to NMC Codes, organisational policies, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Follow sickness/absence reporting procedures and work flexibly within the service, including weekends and 24-hour end-of-life care support as needed.
Clinical Practice
Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate care for children and families, acting as a named nurse when appropriate.
Undertake evidence-based nursing interventions and use clinical skills specific to the speciality after competency assessment.
Monitor and adapt care plans; participate in emergency situations and safeguarding processes.
Maintain accurate records, support infection control, and advocate for children and families.
Communication
Communicate clearly with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams using appropriate methods.
Manage sensitive and complex information with empathy and professionalism.
The course runs for 52 weeks with 7 weeks annual leave. The annual leave is set by the university and non-negotiable.
