Job summary
To provide support tochildren and young people living in WILTSHIREwith bladder and bowel needs and to promote continence, by utilising and promoting evidence-based care. To provide nursing care, support, training, advice and education to children and their families and carers at home and in the community working in close partnership with a range of other statutory and voluntary agencies.
To provide children and young people with the opportunity to express their views in an individually appropriate way, having to have their opinions considered to develop the services.
Main duties of the job
To complete around 6 clinical appointments a day with families and/or children to provide assessment or follow up of their continence needs. Appointmentscan be undertaken in a face to face clinical capacity or via the telephone.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist interventions, providing clear advice to the child, family, professionals, and care workers.
To co-work with other professionals to support the child and familys nursing needs.
Implement both direct and indirect and robust programmes of intervention.
Accurately assess and immediately adjust specialist input and support to meet the childs needs in all settings. Also to support children with additional needs.
To promote self-advocacy and to act as an advocate for childrenand families.
To contribute to relevant teaching and support packages to children, families, carers, and other professionals.

As a Children's Continence Nurse, youll be part of our valued team in Wiltshire. Your allocated hub will be the one closest to home. There are three locations in Chippenham SN151BN, Trowbridge BA14 0XG and Salisbury SP46AT.
