Were looking for aBand 5 or Band 6 (depending on experience)Bank Continuing Care Nurse - Nightsto join ourWiltshire and BaNES Childrens Continuing Care Nursing service.
The Children's Continuing Careteam works across Wiltshire and BaNESproviding night care and support to childrenwho meet Childrens Continuing Care criteria. This includes children and young people with tracheostomies, long term ventilation requirements,enteral feeding and/orother complex heath needs. We provide care in family homes.
This is a night nurse role where the typical working hours are between 22:00 7:00.
Nights can be flexible throughout the week and locations are across Wiltshire and BaNES.
As this is a community based role you will need to have a full UK Driving Licence and access to a car.
Main duties of the job
As a Bank Children's Community Care Nurse you will:
- Co-ordinate and lead the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for children/young people and their families/carers
- Independently carry out nursing procedures and techniques including complex procedures
- Be a point of contact for families on the Childrens Continuing Care Team and act as a liaison between professionals from all agencies when appropriate
- Participate in the development of Service specific protocols and guidelines
- Ensure the rights, dignity and confidentiality of the child/young person are always paramount
- Actively engage and encourage the involvement of Service Users/Carers in service planning and delivery of care
