We are looking for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly Therapy team in a community role within West Lancashire. Our team provide communication, dysphagia and voice assessment therapy and support to adults with acquired difficulties and to their carers.
There are both full and part time roles available within the team to suit you, with the opportunity to complete any administration duties at home to help you to achieve work/life balance. The team operates Monday Friday from 8am 5pm (with a mix of varying start and finish times) with no bank holiday or weekend working.
You will work closely with our senior leaders and have the ability to develop processes and implement innovative ways of working including using our company grant scheme which allows you apply for funds from our £100,000 ringfenced budget, only to be used for innovations!
Main duties of the job
Your caseload will be varied and will include exposure to dementia, dysphasia, other long-term neurological conditions, voice disorders and stroke patients. Your patients will be based within different settings depending on their needs, this includes care homes, patients home, and outpatient clinics across the West Lancashire area.
Within this role, you will:
- Ensure a high standard of patient care is provided, implementing, and reviewing clinical standards relevant to the work undertaken.
- Carry your own caseload inclusive of a wide range of conditions
- Be willing to undertake further training and development

We are looking for a candidate that is:
- A qualified speech and language therapist and has an active registration with the HCPC
- You will have experience in neurological conditions and undertook dysphagia training
- Experience with patients with Head or Neck Cancer is desirable but not essential
- As this is a community role, you will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle to complete your role in the community.
