The Role

As a Support Coordinator, you'll be the driving force behind our service's success. Your dynamic role includes supervising and supporting our talented team, engaging directly with service users, and facilitating inspiring group activities. With your energy and enthusiasm, you'll contribute to our mission of enhancing communication skills, promoting independent living, nurturing social connections, and addressing sensory needs.

Main duties of the job

Your role as a Support Coordinator will keep you on your toes and your heart full. You will:

  • Be the first point of contact for daily queries and issues, using your problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to create effective Care & Support Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • Craft daily rotas, ensuring the safety of the service and accommodating staff needs.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to support workers and assistants.
  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and evaluation of our dynamic day service.
  • Participate in group activities, meal times, and personal care support.
  • Maintain meticulous records and prepare insightful reports.
  • Champion specific projects that enhance our service's offerings.

Qualifications and Attributes

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Around two years' experience in social care, particularly with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Enthusiasm, proactivity, and a strong desire to create positive change.
  • A person-centered approach that prioritizes individual well-being.
  • Collaboration skills, both within a team and when working autonomously.
  • NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Social Care (or willingness to undertake).
  • Good record-keeping abilities aligned with our policies.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities, including epilepsy management and communication needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Extra Perks

While not required, the following would set you apart:

  • Familiarity with Mental Capacity Act, Valuing People, and Care Act 2014.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidelines and other social care legislation.
