Job summary

As a part-time Caretaker/Cleaner at Connections Day Services in Radstock, youll join a team who are focused on providing person-centered, specialist support for adults with learning disabilities. The service delivers group and 1:1 activities focused around key areas including: communication, health & wellbeing, independent living skills, social skills and support with sensory needs. The Caretaker/Cleaner works to ensure the environment is safe and hygienic for anyone accessing Connections. The role is primarily based at the day service, however, you may occasionally be asked to work in other areas, attend meetings or training outside of this location.

Main duties of the job

The Caretaker/Cleaner role is a busy and physically demanding position. Your primary purpose is to open/close the building and ensure the environment is safe and hygienic for anyone accessing Connections. Jobs will include cleaning of all areas of the building, stock maintenance, general maintenance around the building and carrying out Health & Safety checks such as checking fire safety equipment and taking fridge temperatures.

This is a job share role one Caretaker/Cleaner works in the morning, one in the afternoon. We are looking for someone to fill the afternoon role.

The service provision is currently Monday to Friday between 9am 4.30pm. The Caretaker hours are 1.00pm-5.30pm for the afternoon Caretaker.

The service is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and energetic person to become a part-time Caretaker/Cleaner and to join a dedicated and experienced staff team.

You will have some knowledge and experience in general maintenance and cleaning. We will provide you with additional relevant training and support you to do your job. Once trained you will often work on your own but with guidance from the service manager and other staff members.

You will have good communication and record-keeping skills and have some understanding of risk assessment processes in the workplace.
