Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Team Lead to join us at St Martins Hospital on our Sulis Ward!

As a Team Lead you will provide inspirational leadership to the team and act as the clinical lead for the caseload ensuring all patients have appropriate clinical assessments and treatment plans.

You will be working as part of the NHS system in BaNES where we deliver services across Bath and North East Somerset. Our hospitals are based in Paulton and Bath where we provide general medical and stroke rehabilitation for those stepping down form the Acute NHS Trusts; as well as supporting our primary care colleagues with admission avoidance; stepping up from the community.

The role is incredibly rewarding and you will make a real difference to our patients lives. You\'ll be working in a tight-knit team who will support you throughout your work endeavours and push you for success. Team Leaders and Managers are hands-on and approachable on the wards, they will lead yourself and the rest of the team to be innovative and forward-thinking with your approach to nursing.

This a great opportunity for an established Band 6 Nurse with experience in a team lead position, or for a Band 5 Nurse looking to take the next step in their career development.

Main duties of the job

As a Team Lead you will:

  • Lead a team and be a proactive role model, whilst also helping the ward manager in ward coordination.
  • Promote a high standard of evidenced based nursing care and dignity for patients at all times.
  • Be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care.
  • Initiate and undertake audits and develop action plans with the Ward Manager and Practice Development facilitators.
