Job title: Bank Hospice Doctor

Location: Dove House Hospice, Chamberlain Road, Hull, HU8 8DH
Pay: On call will be paid on a sessional basis at £125.70 per session and an hourly rate of £33.52 for any hours spent on the unit.
Hours of work: The hours of work are on an as and when required basis.
The hours of work are on an as and when required basis, to cover periods of sickness/ annual leave. A weekend typically would be Friday night (1 Session), Saturday night (1 Session), Sunday night (1 Session), plus hours on the unit, if required.
Due to the on-call element, there is a requirement to live within 30 minutes travelling time of the hospice for the purpose of on-call emergencies.
While on-call, you should not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Main duties of the job
1.Under the guidance of the Consultant in Palliative Medicine, to work as part of the hospices multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patients and their families receive high quality specialist palliative care (SPC) in line with the objectives of the organisation.
2.To share the responsibility of providing medical expertise in SPC for patients known to the Hospice and those in the community.
3.To provide medical cover as required on a sessional basis for the patients within the Hospice and in the community.
4.To be part of the medical on call rota and carry out medical duties as required including admitting patients out of hours.

9.To always work within the hospices policies and procedures.
10.To undertake essential and further training as requested.
11.To provide support and supervision to medical students and G.P registrars on placements.
12.To attend and participate in the SPC multi-disciplinary team as required.
