Job summary

Job title: Bank Hospice Doctor

Role open to applications: 4th November 2025.

Interview date scheduled for 17th November 2025.

Rate of pay: £32.20 per hour.

Hours of work: The hours of work are on an as and when required basis, to cover periods of sickness/annual leave.

Availability of work on our Bank will obviously vary dependant on many factors within the Hospice.

We must state that the Hospice is under no obligation to offer you work, and for legal reasons all work offered and accepted will be separate from the next. No mutuality of obligation shall subsist between engagements. Likewise, by joining our Bank you are under no obligation to accept work when it is offered to you. It is important that you can, if required, cover shifts at short notice.

Main duties of the job

Under the guidance of the Consultant in Palliative Medicine, to work as part of the hospices multi-disciplinary team to ensure that patients and their families receive high quality specialist palliative care (SPC) in line with the objectives of the organisation.

To share the responsibility of providing medical expertise in SPC for patients known to the Hospice and those in the community.

To provide medical cover as required on a sessional basis for the patients within the Hospice and in the community.

To be part of the medical on call rota and carry out medical duties as required including admitting patients out of hours.

To undertake essential and further training as requested.
