Main duties of the job

Develop and maintain links with communities and groups across Hull and the East Riding, promoting the work and services of Dove House Hospice.

Lead the development and implementation of feedback mechanisms for patient and service user engagement at Dove House Hospice.

Actively communicate and promote newly developed clinical services to relevant stakeholders and the wider community.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Build and maintain a strong network of contactsincluding individuals, groups, and organisationsrelevant to the role and the development of related projects.

Represent Dove House Hospice at health fairs and educational events, strengthening partnerships with Acute Trusts and enhancing the hospices visibility at key health education events.

Engage with local communities, particularly those who may need additional support or encouragement to access hospice services, identifying barriers and working collaboratively to find solutions.

Support the development and delivery of agreed projects that raise public awareness of end-of-life issues and promote health and wellbeing for individuals who are dying and those close to them.

Organise and deliver events aligned with clinical and community priorities, such as Dying Matters Week.

Actively communicate and promote newly introduced services (e.g., outpatient clinics, wellbeing programmes, adult, and child bereavement support) to key partners including GPs, Integrated Hubs, and other health and community networks.

Support the development of new community-based programmes and resources to meet emerging needs and priorities.

Lead on the collection of service user feedback, using a variety of appropriate methods to ensure inclusive and meaningful engagement.

Develop and coordinate a team of volunteers to assist with community events and support the collection of service user feedback.

Create and maintain an annual schedule of engagement events, aimed at promoting awareness and improving accessibility of clinical services within the community.

Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs to capture meaningful feedback from service users participating in groups and wellbeing sessions.

Participate in education programmes and learning activities as required, representing the hospice and sharing relevant expertise.

Plan and facilitate inclusive community events, workshops, and information sessions that inform, engage, and support local populations.

Establish and maintain relationships with local and national organisations that share similar values, working collaboratively to support community wellbeing and service integration. Work closely with other departments across the hospice to ensure alignment and shared impact.

Collaborate with the Family Support Team and therapy services to co-develop innovative, community-based programmes that respond to emerging needs, including the exploration of income generation opportunities.
