We are delighted to invite applications for the role of Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) Specialist Nurse to join our compassionate and dedicated team. This important position plays a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their cancer treatment journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe administration and
management of systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT), ensuring the highest
standards of patient care and adherence to protocols. You will work
collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective,
evidence-based cancer care.
Main duties of the job
Administer systemic anti-cancer treatments
safely and effectively according to current protocols and guidelines.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SACT across
multiple tumour sites to include Haemato-oncology. Demonstrate advanced
knowledge in all toxicities associated with SACT.
Work in collaboration with Lead SACT Nurse for
Nova -Deputy Clinical Director and Consultants in the development of clinical
protocols, policies and guidelines.
Take responsibility for life-long learning
through clinical supervision and performance development review meetings, maintaining of a professional portfolio, identifying ones own educational
needs.
Responsible for own clinical practice without
supervision.
Monitor and assess patients before, during, and
after treatment, responding promptly to any adverse reactions or complications.
Maintain accurate, detailed patient records,
ensuring compliance with legal and professional standards.
Participate in audit, quality assurance, and
service development initiatives to improve patient care and treatment outcomes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of oncology/haematology nursing practices, treatment protocols, and current issues in healthcare.
Ensure compliance with infection control
policies, health and safety standards, and clinical governance frameworks.
Participate in incident investigations, clinical
audits and service improvement Projects.
