Job summary

Are you a dedicated pharmacist with a passion for patient care? We're looking for someone to join our Pharmacy Services team and maintain the highest standards of pharmaceutical services. As a Pharmacist, you will support the Lead Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective delivery of services, including screening and clinically checking prescriptions, mastering all therapies and medications, and collaborating with stakeholders to maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical advice and leadership, verifying prescriptions per GPhC guidelines, and offering timely advice to medical and nursing staff.

Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with other departments and maintaining an organized facility, training colleagues, and contributing to business projects.

Onboarding and Training: Assist with new business, develop prescription templates, and provide operational and clinical training.

Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure SOPs and regulatory standards are met, participate in audits, and maintain GMP and MHRA compliance.

Main duties of the job

  • Registered Pharmacist (GPhC).
  • Knowledge of specialist therapy areas or a strong understanding of the principles in dealing with clinical specialties and complex drug therapies (e.g., oncology, rheumatology, renal medicine, parenteral nutrition).
  • Experience working in homecare pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, or another relevant environment.
  • Thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing pharmacy practice in the UK.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to hold professional relationships with pharmacy technicians, healthcare professionals, and other colleagues.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate dispensing of medications.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with new medications, treatment guidelines, and regulatory changes.
