Job summary

We are looking for a Activity Therapy Coordinator to join our team at Victoria House. This role will be working 40 hours per week, day shift only. (8am - 8pm. weekend work required). Cygnet Victoria House is a 26 bed mental health inpatient service for men. The service, split across two wards, provides a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

We are looking for a Activity Therapy Coordinator to join our team at Victoria House.

This role will be working 40 hours per week, day shift only. (8am - 8pm. weekend work required).

Cygnet Victoria House is a 26 bed mental health inpatient service for men. The service, split across two wards, provides a safe and stabilising environment for men who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

The ethos of our service is about assessing and treating service users in the least restrictive environment and planning for discharge in a robust and timely fashion. With a focus on stabilisation, we will support service users to manage their mental health, reinforce daily living skills and prepare for independent life back in the community.

Our team works closely and collaboratively with service users, their families and the referrer to provide a seamless pathway from referral to discharge. Our approach is recovery focused and supported by comprehensive multi-disciplinary teams, contributing to shorter lengths of stay.

Your Day-to-DayWe are seeking an academically strong candidate to support and enhance the care of patients at the service by assisting the Occupational Therapist with; Encouraging patients to access and become involved in a variety of activities as well maintaining any pre-existing hobbies. Planning and impleme nting therapy programmes whilst ensuring appropriate materials are obtained Contributing ideas, facilitating events and activities in a safe mannerWere looking for someone who has Experience and/or a passion for working in healthcare and with Mental Health Some knowledge of Occupational Therapy A creative flair and the ability to work as part of a interdisciplinary team An awareness of recovery approaches and social inclusion (desirable)Why Cygnet?
