We are looking for a confident Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for delivering outstanding care. Youll be working full time, 40 hours a week, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield. Cygnet Hospital Sheffield provides a CAMHS service supporting young people aged between 12-18 with a range of mental health needs in acute environments (GAU) and a Hybrid Intensive Support service (ISS) model enabling individuals to transition between planned short-term and long-term stays is response to presentation and needs. The aim of the service is to help young people strengthen their skills, stabilise, and return to the community as soon as possible.

You will work closely with Phoenix School (on-site) to provide tailored assessments and therapy, where you will help young people gain the communication skills they need to thrive in their learning environment and improve function.

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist with:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and c urrent Registration with HCPC and membership of professional body (RCSLT)
  • Strong clinical and professional skills
  • Experience or keen interest in the field of CYP, criminal justice and Mental Health Conditions
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support with an emphasis on person-centred planning
  • Evidence of being a strong team player with a genuine desire to help others
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Enthusiasm, motivation and passion

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose and play a key role in the management of young people with complex communication needs, behaviours that challenge and other diagnosed / undiagnosed conditions. Under the guidance of the supervising SLT, you will be able to train others, promote good practice and maintain a successful total communication environment. Low caseload numbers enable you to provide focused support.
